Before and After Arriving in Canada
BEFORE arriving in Canada
a) Update your Personal Email address in your SIMS portal (Student Information Management System).
Under “My Profile” (menu bar)
b) Fill out the “Travel Plan Form” if you have made travel plans to come to Canada, purchased a flight ticket, and know when and where you will be arriving in Canada.

The form is an online digital form (link shown above) – You must fill out and submit the form by first logging into your College Email account.

- You must answer all the questions
- You must provide COVID-19 quarantine-related information on the form. All travellers entering Canada are required to have a plan to quarantine for 14 days (3 days of which is government-mandated quarantine and must be in a government-approved hotel)
Students must complete the above steps if you travel to Canada at the beginning of or at any point during the semester.
AFTER arriving in Canada
a) Scan the Study Permit (full page) issued to you when you arrive in Canada, and send the scanned copy to registration@purescollege.ca

- You must use your College Email address to send this email.
- Email Subject should be “Study Permit – your Student ID #”
Important Notice regarding your medical insurance:
Unfortunately, you will not be receiving the medical insurance information until you have submitted your Study Permit photocopy to the College, to indicate you are physically present in Canada. Please allow 2 weeks for processing. Your medical insurance information will be e-mailed to your college email address when it’s ready.
b) Log into your SIMS portal and update the following information:
Under “My Account” (top-right corner, circular icon)

- Social Insurance Number (SIN)
Under “My Profile” (menu bar)

- Canadian Phone Numbers
- Current Mailing Address (Canadian Home Address)
- Emergency Contact Name (and relationship)
- Emergency Contact # (must be a Canadian phone number
If you are physically present in Canada, then you must complete the step outlined for your health insurance and to be considered fully registered.
